Building a Walnut Sideboard
This video is #sponsored by @minwaxusa.
In this video, I go through the build process of a Walnut Mid-Century Modern Sideboard for my wife. The sideboard features three long soft close drawers, flanked by doors on either side. The doors and drawer fronts are veneered and book matched, with decorative beading surrounding the face of the doors and drawers. The interior dividers are constructed using a web frame, and the cabinet back is constructed using floating panels with tongue and groove joinery. Finally, the case sits on top of a set of turned legs that are mortised into a support block. I applied a hand rubbed finish using Minwax Oil Based Polyurethane, and then polished and buffed with Minwax Furniture Paste Wax.

Modern Tall Entryway Table
Переглядів 3 тис.11 місяців тому
I was able to build a modern tall entryway table for my wife and posted a UA-cam video #sponsored by @minwaxusa. I started with a set of templates that I drafted in 3-D space and cut out using my CNC. I then cut the legs and aprons on the table saw using the templates and an L-fence. The entire piece was joined using Domino slip tenons since this piece did not require any decorative exposed joi...
Building a Round Kitchen Table with Sculpted Legs

This video is sponsored by Minwax - makes and keeps wood beautiful. www.minwax.com/? I was commissioned by a local client to build a 50" round kitchen table with a 4-legged sculpted base assembly and posted a UA-cam video sponsored by Minwax. Baluster Trestle Table

This video is sponsored by Minwax - makes and keeps wood beautiful. www.minwax.com/? Occasionally, potential clients will ask me to build a furniture piece with turned legs. I usually turn down these types of commissions, because I’m not a very good wood turner, especially when it comes to making copies. In this instance, I gave the option to build a trestle dining table with baluster legs so l...
Refinishing Furniture with Custom Stain Color

A Matching Dining Table
Переглядів 21 тис.4 роки тому
After building the set of dining chairs, I needed to build a matching trestle table for my client. I knew I wanted to incorporate accent details such as Walnut plugs and pillowed wedged mortise and tenons. I also wanted to incorporate some gentle curves to the dining table that are seen throughout the dining chairs. While I did not incorporate aspects of cloud lifts in the table design, I wante...
Building a Set of Dining Chairs
Переглядів 92 тис.4 роки тому
In early 2019, I started building a set of Arts & Crafts style dining chairs. The process was an exercise in maximizing efficiency and developing methods of repeatable production in a small shop setting. The set consisted of two arm chairs and four side chairs and made from premium Pennsylvania Cherry. All of the mortise and tenon joinery was done using the PantoRouter. The exposed through mort...

    Another Alabama woodworker here (stuck in California) FINALLY someone who appreciates red oak for what it is! A pretty great wood that's cheap and doesn't have to look like Grandma's cabinets! I built a kitchen table out of the stuff and a very similar sofa table. The table was given a similar look with a white hard wax oil and the sofa table I ebonized with India ink for the legs (walnut slab top). White oak would have been as expensive as walnut in my area...Great work!

    • @AlabamaWoodworker
      @AlabamaWoodworker 11 місяців тому

      White Oak has gotten outrageously expensive in North Alabama. I don't know why, but it's just as expensive as Walnut. If treated properly, I think Red Oak looks great. The India ink and white hardwax oil sounds like a great contrasting combination.
